Town Board creates highway mechanic position with wage increase

NY MADISON — Madison Town Board approves highway mechanic position and lifeguard wages. Highway Superintendent Jeff Bailey's department received approval for a new mechanic role at an additional $1 per hour, while lifeguards will earn $16 per hour for new hires and $17.50 per hour for returning staff. The department faces approximately $100,000 in salt tent replacement costs and repairs needed on Stone and Hall roads.

The board also heard public concerns from Madison Lake residents about potential houseboat law regulation and safety issues from high-speed e-foil boards.
